It's 12:52 am in New York. For Mefites in earlier time zones {GMT -6 etc} does this post show up as being made on the 11th or 10th?

For me, it is under the "August 10, 2005" title. I should think it is for you, too. Which, in turn, leads me to believe this thread will be deleted within the next ten hours. Hey-ho!

I'm at GMT -8, not that I think it makes a difference. You do note the posting time isn't for your time zone, don't you? 9:54 PM, because MeTa indexes off PST. Which, not coincidently, is also the time zone for Mathowie's life.

It all revolves around Mathowie. Always. The whole universe revolves around Mathowie.

Hmm, I was begining to think Mefi could display things in their proper time zone.

It shows the 10th for me (Mountain time)

It displays my time in the blue, but the grey seems to be always PST/PDT.

I do rough zones on metafilter, but never went the extra mile to copy the convoluted time code to other parts of the site.

I like how flickr does it, by not showing dates on comments, just saying how long ago they were made in relative terms (posted 3 hours ago)

Heh, I just always assumed there was timezone code, because I'm PST, and I'm so used to things that default to EST.

P! S! T!

Because sunsets on the ocean are so much cooler than sunrises, and you can alwas call a friend back east to see if this week's episode of "Lost" is worth watching.

Shows as August 10 for me. Of course, if it really allowed completely for differences in zones, it would actually say 10 August instead. Yes, I know that MeTa doesn't allow for zones at all.

Now, there's an idea!

PST, because the sun revolves around Mathowie.
