I like the name 'mathowie'. It seems he must have had some algebra injury as a kid. Very traumatic. Also, 'amberglow' because it underlines her radiant appearance (amber's a girl's name, right?)

Seriously, though:

The well-crafted: stavrosthewonderchicken, If I Had An Anus

The spot-on: loquacious, angry modem

The referential: dirtynumbangelboy, jetskiaccidents

I could go on.

The only one that makes me burst out laughing every time I think of it is the now-abandoned sock puppet mathovvie. Oh gawd, I thought I'd die.

Names are names are names, but I tend to enjoy those that reference math, physics, and science-y stuff (Derive the Hamiltonian of..., orthogonality, Johnny Assay, etc.). The ones that make me laugh hardest are largely contextual, like quonsar 2: electric boogaloo or Zombie Theatrical Matriarch.

It's all in the timing.

I've always been mildly disappointed that no one really seems to like my username. Mind you, I'm not that enamored of it myself in the same way that I quite like some of the names mentioned in this thread. It's not witty, obviously. But I was aiming for a memorable character's name, and something mellifluous, and I've always thought I achieved that goal rather well. Obviously, the name must suck because I put too much thought into it. It's the way of things, isn't it?

Most things I like are off-key for majority tastes, I think. Like EB, often too-labored or too obscure, or both. For example, my favorite possible mefi name I've thought of is The Lament of Darger's Children. I tell myself I should be embarrased at it because it's just trying too damn hard, and yet I still like anyway.
