Adam Savage's AMA on Reddit might not be noteworthy here if not for This Comment: "I feel seriously so dumb about the reply thing. I'm used to the format on Metafilter."
Still not convinced about that plane on a conveyor belt thing? (See also here here and here.) Well, now you can try it for yourself at the new Mythbusters exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry.
MeFi's own Adam Savage ("MOAS") gave us a very cool shout out to his 15 million Twitter followers, saying "Awesome links, excellently moderated discussion. My favorite community of balanced, reasoned debate is www.metafilter.com." And in response to another tweet asking about Reddit, MOAS replied that of course he still reads Reddit, but "for reasonable debate, I far prefer MeFi.". [more inside]

Tonight a debate that has pitted brother against brother, friend against friend, MeFite against MeFite, will be finally laid to rest. The long awaited Mythbusters episode about airplane vs. conveyor belt airs tonight at 9 o'clock. For real this time. No really, it's airing, Adam Savage said so. [more inside]
Our episode of Mythbusters aired tonight, aside from a MeFi sign noticed last month, did anyone spot any other promised shout-outs? [For those without TV, you can see a small segment on silver bullets here, under Mythbusters Uncut. Also, check out the Ask a Ninja clip, just because.]
There was a Mythbusters marathon recently. At the end of one of the the shows, behind Adam and Jamie, on the back wall, there was a masking tape "MeFi."
This video, "Metafilter vs. Ask a Ninja Video" has a very obvious MeFi callout.
Check out the box in the background of this Mythbusters/Ask a Ninja clip.
Speaking of asavage, did anyone else see the MeFi shoutout on tonight's Mythbusters? On the wall during one the post-myth summaries, "MeFi" was written in what looked like chalk on a green chalkboard. asavage mentioned that he'd shout the site out out in MeFi Podcast 3, but it sounded like that would only be for the old west show.
This is pretty cool.
Hey MetaFilter is famous again! Adam Savage's AskMe answer shows up on LifeHack. (Via Fark. Oh the irony.)
