Axe-grindy Bush post.

This is a terrible, axe-grinding, (self-admitted) newsfilter post with editorializing in both the text of the post and the tags.

Bad newsfilter post.

This is why single link newsfilter posts are bad.

Kidding, don't pile on.

Wow. A lot of you failed to get the joke.

These aren't really good posts.

Natalie dee now has her very own dog. It's too bad she had to " stone-cold quit my job".

Does This combined with This really belong on the front page?

What _is_ the best way to address this stuff without seeming like a jerk?

Is it too much to ask that FPP's be reasonably coherent?

Format problems

Troutfishing's post about Miami seems to have some formatting problems.

Posts with no context at all.

a b c's, 1 2 3's. Here's a thread to critique these.

Quick and lazy newsfilter posts.

Double-posts leak in. (1, 2)

Are conspiracy posts appropriate?

Are baseless conspiracy theories appropriate MetaFilter threads?

Doesn't do what it says on the tin

Blog reviews 6 hits songs from the 50s; FPP claims every #1 song for the past 50+ years. Quite a jump, eh?

Can we criticize?

It's great that Matt is just one of the guys when it comes to posting but, with respect, this post of his seems way below average. It's a short news item, from a big media source, which will already be known to those who follow the news. The post, though, is not the point. My question is "To what extent are we allowed - or able - to criticize his posts as if he were just another user?" Is it ungracious, ungrateful or downright rude, for instance? Fwiw, my opinion is that special treatment and undue deference are just as annoying and even insulting.

Enough with the flash spam.

We needed another gratuitous product pitch? As the worthless Legs McNeil once said: please kill me.

Take it to Sportsfilter

Here's a fun brain teaser for ya. Wouldn't sports oriented front page posts like this and this be better suited in SportsFilter? And if not, why not?

Chatfilter posts are bad posts.

You're kidding, right?

Holden baby, come on. Leave our fonts alone.

No more Stile links, please.

Please, in the name of whatever faith-based tradition you espouse, no more Stile links! Kee-rist.

Tired of Ralph Nader posts

Now I would never, never try to impose my own ideas about what should or should not be posted on MeFi, but for the last three weeks I've been wishing I could go somewhere and set some field that said "Don't show me any thread whose parent includes either the words Ralph or Nader". Oh, how I wish I had that.

In the nine months I've been an active participant, I've never wanted such a thing before now. Well, only two more weeks and then it will all die down. I guess I can last that long. But it's been a long time since I've seen such an appalling waste of bits. grumble grumble

MeFi post as callout

I think starting a new front-page thread just to call another user out is going too far, especially when said user explicitly asks to take it to e-mail.
