May I just take a moment to say that whoever has been doing the sidebar on the front page of the Blue has been just fuckin' KNOCKING IT OUT OF THE PARK lately? I love the grouping of similar posts, I love the themes that have been played with, I just love how creative and how engaging it has been lately. Today's Women's Work grouping was so great that it brought me here to make this post. This is just a shoutout and a thank you for what you're doing!

I unfortunately am aware of the academic research around "likes" and the equivalent. But, metafilter favourites carry more weight with me, even than family likes on facebook, because you guys (apart from H00py, and the tenth anniversary 3 monkeys people) don't know me or owe me. Metafilter is really, really fucking good lately. 'Lately' being weeks if not months on end. My theory is that favouriting encourages people Be Swell. Whatever it is, though, I offer a sincere thank you to everyone concerned, because this place is still the best damn game in town.
