Link new question page to wiki? February 4, 2006 1:57 PM Subscribe
On the ask.mefi "post a new question page," can we get a link to the What makes a good question wiki page?
Good point. Maybe a guidelines page for AskMe is in order, and a link to that could be provided (a la the "You read the guidelines, right?" when posting on the Blue). Not that people will necessarily read it, but still.

It's a good idea, but posters aren't going to read it, and then every other thread will have an obligatory "You read the wiki, right?" snark that I think we could all live without.

Or what makes a "quality" question. Not that there aren't bad questions (oh, no, you wasted our precious time!), but in 99% of cases the issue is clarity, information, and detail. "Good" is too subjective for something as humbling as an AskMefi question (as embarassing as many of them are).

There are always people who won't bother, but making the wiki more accessible/obvious might be appreciated, and used, by some.
