But yeah. Agreed 100% as to providing that old overview-by-thread utility in supplement to the new bits. So far as I know, pb and Matt are still working on it after pushing the last revision out to live.
Also, it's damned confusing having more than one My Comments, now.

Not at all. The two offer different functionality (although I admit I have no idea what anyone would want with the comments list functionality now available in the new combined view, I understand that people use the site in different ways).
You can pry the current My Comments functionality from my cold, dead hands!

But I miss being able to click on "My Comments" and seeing them sorted predominantly by thread.
I don't understand what is missing. There is still a My Comments link in the header that does what you say. There is a My Comments front page view. We didn't take anything away.

I'm also confused. My Comments still does exactly what it ever did. Are you sure you're not clicking on something else?

Clarifying speculation:
bardic, is the "My Comments" you're talking about actually the "Comments" tab on the new activity page? (That's how I was reading it, and taking your word for it that the tab was labeled "My Comments" rather than just "Comments".)
Because, yeah, the My Comments link at the top of every page has not changed, but I'm assuming that's not what you were talking about anyway.

Yeah, whats so confusing, bardic?
There's My Comments.
There's My Comments.
And, of course, My Comments.
Not confusing at all.

I miss the old interfaces for tracking my comments, and I'm very annoyed that they're being changed too.
These three links:
MeFi Posts
AskMe Posts
MeTa Posts
don't all look the same. The MeFi Posts link has been damaged and is less readable.
The presentation on all the new My Comments pages is far less clear than the old one. The spacing is bad, the sizing is bad, and there's no clear differentiation between posts and comments. Either posts or comments should be multiline, not both. I would suggest using titles instead of entire link text for FPPs, because you HAVE titles. Use them. Just like, well, you used to.
The AskMe layout (the second link there) would be perfect, in exactly that spacing and size layout, with one change: replace the date/time the comment was posted with the first 40 characters of the post.

Basically: you're changing more than needs to be changed to fix the problem, and you're taking a serious step back in visual layout to do it. You had this NAILED, you just needed to replace dates/times with a little of the article text.
The new features are great ideas... but the old presentation was a lot better. So combine them!

Malor: I miss the old interfaces for tracking my comments, and I'm very annoyed that they're being changed too.
We didn't change the old interfaces. All three history links you pointed to haven't been changed in several months.
The presentation on all the new My Comments pages is far less clear than the old one
Again, just to make everything perfectly clear, we made no changes to the My Comments page. I believe you are talking about your Comments history page. I have no idea what bardic's request is about.
The spacing is bad, the sizing is bad, and there's no clear differentiation between posts and comments.
I agree, and added a line break back in. We had it there before but took it out to conserve vertical space as much as possible but I agree that they all ran together.
Either posts or comments should be multiline, not both.
What do you mean here? We preserve and display multiple lines on comments because a lot of people quote other comments below and running them together was confusing. I don't think the Posts are shown as multiline. Can you show me a screenshot or links to where you see this behavior.
I would suggest using titles instead of entire link text for FPPs, because you HAVE titles. Use them. Just like, well, you used to.
I don't see where this is the case, we do in fact use Titles everywhere we can. Your comment history is all titles on the posts.

bardic, it sounds like you should just keep the old comment history URL bookmarked then.

I realize there are lots of changes going on, mostly good, but this kind of throws me. (And I've learned to like the FPP page, fwiw.)
Shorter: I don't need to see everything I wrote in a comment history link, and would much prefer time, date, and place, nothing else.
That is all.
Oh, I forgot: HITLER.
