The text box for posting comments on mobile (I'm talking about Modern theme here; Classic has similar but slightly different issues) is really small. It makes it hard for me to write more than a couple sentences without losing track of what I was talking about. Sometimes I just give up. Can it be bigger? [more inside]

So, I have a tab open with a MetaFilter post in it, and it will give me an indication if there are new comments. Can I have the front page tab/page open and have an indication about how many new FPPs are awaiting my viewing? I have no idea what kind of server load or technical problem that might pose, and am certainly willing to forego it for either one of those reasons if they are burdensome, but I always have a tab of the front page of MF and I refresh it a lot but maybe I wouldn't refresh it as often (reducing server load) if I had a "X new posts" or a "see new posts" there instead of a black box that only reveals new posts if I click. I don't know what the community feelings are about this, and I'm only suggesting it, but maybe it would be felt to be generally useful?

I was wondering what the community and dev team thinks about adding a ctrl+enter shortcut to post comments. It's something that's fairly common elsewhere on the web, and in my opinion it would be nice to have it here as well. Going to the mouse to click on Post Comment is not exactly a big deal, but it would be cool if there were a keyboard shortcut for those of us who are slightly mouse-averse. [more inside]

Quick question - when I'm playing something in me-fi music and switch windows, I lose the sound. This seems unusual - normally I can hear background sound in any open Firefox window. What am I doing wrong?

Anyone remember a video going around the web that showed a guy manipulating satellite imagery--maybe directly in Google Earth--by using hand gestures instead of a mouse? I recall he was using both his hands. It was some kind of a demo video for a new human interface technology. I might have not even found it via MeFi. Ring a bell for anyone?

Random interface though: Make ctrl-enter preview or post messages. Outlook does it, IMs do it, and I keep trying to do it. Oh, and I'm lazy. And I'm aware of the alternative key combination, tab-enter, but it's uh, non-standard. Or some other good reason. :-)
