I'm not reading that thread anymore June 21, 2007 8:30 PM   Subscribe

Pony request... I'd love to be able to take threads off of my Recent Activity page.

It's just that sometimes, two hundred comments later, I don't care anymore. So it's cluttering up the page and adding another screen or so of scrolling to it (scrolling is hard work!). And I kinda wish I hadn't commented on the thread in the first place.

It's come up a couple times before—in a rush, or I'd track down the threads—and I like the idea too, but it hasn't been a high priority dev-wise.

Ahhh. *nod* I hadn't seen it suggested before; I must have missed it.

I know next to nothing about database and programming stuff, but it seems like an ajax-y "hide" function (like what happens when digg comments down on digg) would be even better and have the added benefit of keeping the data intact. You can push it back and then pull it toward you if and when you want to take another look.

The problem is not MetaFilter. The problem is your ability to care.

Hey, yeah! I was thinking of a straight "unsubscribe" equivalent, but that would be better.

Yup, I requested this here.

Essentially, it's too much trouble, but there's a Greasemonkey script.

I think you've reawakened my wistful longing for the days when I could use Firefox on this computer without sobbing into my shirtsleeves at how slow it was.

Please close this thread, so as to keep cortex's thread the only remaining open thread from the summer solstice (in the Northern hemisphere, yeah, yeah, whatevs). Please, please, please, please, please?

What dark ritual is this?!

Yeah, I think after that last week of pure hell the mods are enjoying the freedom to close threads.

I dunno. I mean, it's basically a double, and answered to the posters satisfaction, but closing it would be kind of harsh. I mean, it'd be a real jerk move. Balls nasty, is what I'm saying.
