Any other Maine-folk planning to see
The King of Kong at SPACE Gallery?
I'm planning on going and it seems like the sort of thing some people here might be attending, so just wanted to say that if you see me there, please feel free to come on over and meet me. I will probably be dressed in some soft of
video-game appropriate shirt, but I don't think there is an actual dress code.
More info on the event:
One of the best reviewed films of 2007, The King of Kong follows an epic battle between a middle-school science teacher and a hot sauce mogul as they vie for the Guinness World Record on the arcade classic, Donkey Kong. Galen Richmond's one-man-band Computer At Sea coaxes pop songs and glitch breaks out of a tangle of aftermarket Casios, repurposed videogame machines and handmade electronics. Listeners are invited to play along on a circuit-bent Nintendo Entertainment System. Music before and after the film.
Doors open at 7pm, I plan to get there and buy tickets before the music starts at 7:30.
