Would anyone be interested in starting an Etsy Team?

It looks as if quite a number of users sell things on Etsy, many others (including Great Leader) are fans, and until we get a real, non-static Mefi Shops section, having an Etsy Team might be a good way to at least get all the links to our shops together in one place.

Here's their template for starting a team (I personally don't think it's necessary to have weekly chats and events and all that, but if someone else is interested in running those, that's cool too.)

If I don't have to do anything other than look at the neat stuff that people make, and maybe occasionally buy some of it, I would love to be on an Etsy team.

I keep putting off actually photographing and putting my stuff up on my etsy account, so doing this might push me over the edge into Action-land. I'm in!

I'd love to be able to put an Etsy team on the MeFiShopping page or whatever the heck it is, and also patronize MeFi crafters so I think this is a great idea.

I often think about maaaaybe putting my stuff on Etsy one day, but I'm too lazy and selfish. If I ever do open up an Etsy shop, I'm very much in.

It's christmas/hanukkah/bodhiday/kwanzaa/solstice/saturnalia/yule/festivus/freezingman season so I'm happy to shop Etsy's Team MeFi. I'm too lazy busy to get my own stuff online before January though.

Okay, so I guess if you're interested, please MeMail me with your Etsy user name, and I'll fill out their form and get things running!

And I think anyone with an Etsy account is allowed to be on a team - you don't need to have items in your shop.

yeah, totally. like others, I've been procrastinating putting stuff up (as in: I have a pile of jewelry on my coffeetable waiting to be photographed), so this might be the thing that tips me into finally doing something!

Thanks to everyone who responded so far!

I've extended the recruitment call over to metachat, because there's so much overlap between the userbases.

Also, does anyone have name suggestions? I'm leaning towards Metsy at the moment....

Wait, hang on. Now that I've actually looked at the link... If I joint the team do I lose my individual etsy store? If so, I don't want to do it, sorry...If I get to keep my own store and this is just another way that people can find my stuff, then it's all good.

Hey amro, it looks to me like you still keep your shop - it just links members together on one page (and it looks me like like us shoppers don't really have a need to join the team, although we can still browse the team page). Here's an example of a team page: Etsy Wedding Team. You can see all the individual shops listed at the bottom.

I'm probably going to be shutting down my ecommerce site at the end of the year, and may put stuff up on Etsy instead. If I do, then by all means, I'm in. :)

Okay, so now I've contacted the Etsy people about setting up a team (and I'm a bit nonplussed as to why the whole process has to be conducted via email rather than some automated create-a--comm widget), and I'm waiting for a reply. Keep the names coming though - if for some reason the Etsy team doesn't go through, I'll try to set up at least some kind of blog-type directory that lists everybody and their shops.

And it looks like most people like Metsy, so Metsy it is!

I haven't yet started listing, but I have the username for my shop secured. So, I'm in, if I can get up in there without my shop being 100% ready. Also a big fan of Metsy.
