Doodle, an easy little tool for picking future meetup dates.

You set up an event with a number of possible dates. You post the link. Other people who want to attend add their names to get rows, and click all the dates that work for them. It tallies the dates that work best. No registration required.

The link above goes to a fake meetup, not a real event, just so you can get a feel for how it works.

Okay, begin the deluge of all the other sites I don't know about that do this easier and better. Or, if not, someone feel free to post this one to MeFi (where I haven't commented enough to earn the privilege), on the condition that you forward all ensuing favorites to my account.

I've used Doodle to solve meeting problems before and I like it.

Its usefulness depends on how many options you want to present. For a smallish set of dates or times, it works pretty well.

Excellent. So when's the next Boston-area/New England(ish) meetup, then, daisy? Hmm?

C'mon, now. That meetup's not just going to plan itself.

This seems rather a good idea. Not as good idea as say beer, but easily in the non-licking stamp category.

I would love something like this to determine toppings for pizza amongst my friends.

Just fuck 'em all and go with "none left beef", cimbrog.

Neat, it works just like the conference-call software I have to use, but free on the web, for the people. Like it!

Non-licking stamps are a bad idea. Stamp-licking provides a tasty, healthy alternative to vending machine food.

cimbrog, you mean like this?

Sorry. I had a... a moment of weakness.

De aranyos! It even has a localized version for me. So I felt obligated to vote on that, but fortunately I'm easy to accomodate.

I remember when wolfpup used to be such a picky eater. Now look at him.

It has been a while, hasn't it? I couldn't attend one myself until something like mid-December, though, so I nominate somebody other than me. If no one takes up the charge, I'll put something up then. Maybe I'll see if initapplette wants to co-initiate at that point -- I know she's been meaning to try for an Arlington one. Maybe Summer Shack at Alewife?

Game night just got hell of a lot easier! Thanks so much!

"Hey, guys. You know how I computerized all our battleboard stuff? Guess what's about to happen with the pizza!"

I for one welcome our Doodle over... uh... democratic facilitators.

I like Doodle. But shotgun rules work better.

People bring dates to meetups? And they need tools to pick them? This site is complicated.
