Richmond, VA meetup?

I just moved from DC. I don't know a lot of people. Are there ever mefi meetups down here?

I live in Fredericksburg. I'd make the 1 hour drive South for a meetup.

My wife and I recently (well, 7 months ago) moved to Roanoke (190 miles away from Richmond) and am interested.

I would like to suggest Mekong as the meetup place. They have an awesome beer selection and great food. Lots of vegan, vegetarian and meat options to please everyone. It's been one of my favorite places for years.

We definitely did have a 10th anniversary meetup, but there were only four of us in attendance.

I'm in Williamsburg, but make it in to Richmond with some frequency, and came to a meetup ages ago (hi emelenjr, lalalana, and rainbaby, and anyone else I'm forgetting).

I'd definitely be interested in this.

I will be there. We should get a head count and make a reservation though. Doesn't have to be too far an advance, the day before or the same day will work. Just to give them a heads up and have a table ready for us.

Hey, friends. Looks like I'm going to have to bow out. We have some out-of-town guests coming for the weekend, and it would be poor form for me to disappear Saturday night.

I have not made a reservation yet, and somebody else probably should go ahead and do it, because I doubt I'll have a chance to until pretty late in the day tomorrow.

I made a reservation for 10 people under the name Marshall. I told An that we may be a couple more or less, and he said that would be fine. See everyone at 7:00.

I was having too much fun and didn't get around to taking any pictures. Great turnout this time—only one MeFite I recognized from past meetups (QuantumMeruit.) MaryDellamorte and a friend were there (sign that guy up pronto—he'll fit right in) along with COD and strangely stunted trees.

Empath, wish you could have made it. Hope you weren't hidden in some corner by yourself wondering where everyone was!
