A little shmoopy for y'all

This is to thank the askme crew for all the help you've given me over the past 18 months or so with regards to getting married. You helped me decide how to talk to my in-laws, how to have a wedding on the cheap, how to talk to my in-laws (reprise), who should cater my wedding, the etiquette of inviting assholes, wedding transportation concerns, how to make the invites, even where to have the rehearsal dinner. With your help, I was able to pull off easily the best of wedding of all time last night. I am honestly wondering if there is, in the wake of this superlative wedding, any reason for people to get married anymore. By comparison, any subsequent nuptials would just look embarrassing.

Thank you so much, Metafilter.

PS: I got that job at NPR, too.

Honeymoon's not for a couple of weeks. I can promise you that when the time comes, I will be duly unplugged. For now, unfortunately, it's back to work.

Congrats and best wishes.

How did you end up getting married in PA when you originally wanted to get married in MA and the in-laws wanted you to get married in NJ or NY? I insist on an explanation right this instant.

Can't you guys read the post title? Clearly, the advice he received on askme was so damn good that he abandoned his previous marital plans and straight up married the website itself.

May I suggest Quonsar? For old times sake.

Can we name your first baby?

There aren't enough Augustuses in the world if you ask me. If the child is female, she can go by Augustina or "Aggie", a name to ensure a kind of strong, agate willpower will take root.

I'd name the first kid "Meta" then when she starts gabbing you can say, "Look, Meta talk!" Or when she gets older you can say to her brother, "I don't know where the ball is, ask Meta"

Josh - yes, please do find me on Facebook. And I'll probably be in LA in December or January. Let's work that out.

I feel both a "Yay!" and a "Congrats!" coming on...

Yay! Congrats! Woo!

Whoa! I have no idea where that "Woo" came from though. Just spontaneous happiness I guess.
