The sweetest kiss I think I've ever had
On June 26th 2015, as the U.S. celebrated marriage equality, my then girlfriend said with joyful certainty and a beaming smile "This means you're gonna be my wife someday."
On Friday June 3rd 2016, Tina and I were married in our lovely backyard garden surrounded by close friends and loved ones. And *THAT* dear mefites, was the sweetest kiss I've ever had. [more inside]

In light of the Obergefell v. Hodges ruling and the explosion of marriages, proposals, officiating proposals, I'm excited to hear about any mefites who are getting married or officiating! I've seen pictures all over twitter, but I'd love to share in the happiness this brings to our own little corner of the internet.
Are you married to someone Ask MetaFilter told you to dump?
There is a lot of DTMFA in Ask posts. Often, there's a lot of DTMFA in response to questions which involve a romantic relationship, but where the question is of the form "Who's right?" or "Where should we live?" or "Should we buy or rent?" but not "Should I D this MF?" I was just wondering: are there a lot of members who are now in marriages or other more-or-less permanent relationships with partners who've been the subject of dump-urging pileons in Ask? Or did all of you actually D the MFs as instructed?
Survey about sexual orientation of surveyor changing results
A while ago on the Blue (I think) I saw an article about an experiment done where the people giving the survey would either make some comment that indicated they were homosexual or not, and the results of the survey changed based on that. I can't find this article now, when I have a speech on LGBT rights. [more inside]
