It's Jobby-Jobby-Jobby-Jobby-Jobby-Jobby-Jobbytime! August 26, 2010 3:27 PM   Subscribe

Pony of Indeterminate Size: I'm not sure if we've discussed this before, but would it be okay to add a "Jobs Wanted" side to the Jobs area?

I'm thinking about the wonderful response that the esteemed OP has gotten here, both publicly and privately. Many of us probably wouldn't have specific jobs to post, but would help out a fellow member or member's friend looking for something else. It would also be really useful for those of us who might consider going to a city but aren't sure what's out there, or those open to multiple types of work ["Looking for barista or English professor position in Portland"]. Plus we could post freelance offerings up there, too.

Mainly, I envision a job-seeker posting something and others following up with details via MeMail.

Thank you; come again.

While we're on the subject of jobs, are the jobs posted subject to moderator approval before appearing on the site?

No, Jobs are posted immediately and only removed if there's a problem.

are the jobs posted subject to moderator approval before appearing on the site?

Nope. For the record, here's how posting works on all the parts of the site.

MeFi - Posts go up directly. First posts and post of people on the watchlist [mostly people who look like SEO scammers] are emailed to us also. I think we're emailed all posts, but I mostly file mine and don't look at them, don't know about the other folks.
MeTa - Posts go up directly. All MeTa posts are also emailed to Team Mod.
AskMe - Posts go up directly. AnonyMe posts go into a queue. An alert that there is a new post in the queue goes to me and mathowie. Most anon posts are approved within 24-48 hours if they're approved at all.
Jobs - Posts go up directly.
Projects - mathowie approves Projects posts.
Music - Posts go up directly.
IRL - Posts go up directly [maybe emailed to someone who is not me]

Sweet!

I can understand why it would be a moderation nightmare, but I do think that it's too bad that DateMe or whatever you'd call the dating site doesn't seem to be on the agenda.
