links only please. September 2, 2011 7:50 PM   Subscribe

Is there any interest in a display mode that shows only the comments providing links? It might make a fairly convenient way to skim long messy threads quickly.

I'd imagine the cleanest approach would simply be a grease monkey script that radically reduced the font size for comments without links. Or added a search for the next link button in the browser bar.

There was a mefi grease monkey script collection running around someplace I recall. Btw, Grease Monkey scripts sometimes work in Safari.

(Here is the script collection - though none address your pony)

i've thought about this before. i thought about figuring out a way to pull the a href tag out of the source, but that's about as far as i got in my brainstorming before the internet happened.

Yep, this is something that would need to happen with Greasemonkey or a bookmarklet. We don't have any interest in doing this on the MeFi end of things.

In order to make sure that you grant my comments the proper weight, I'll be including a link in every single one from now on.

Convenient to what end?

Also, if someone makes one of those comments where every letter is an individual link, the font size should be much, much bigger.

Providing links? This is not the Waffle House thread, and anyway bacon is better.

This pony request reminds me of blURL, a Twitter interface that only shows you tweets with links.

How about only cat video links?

Opera provides a "display links on page" pane, but that includes usernames and times.
