Metafilter Scroll Tag has disappeared
The "Metafilter Scroll Tag" Greasemonkey script has stopped functioning. As in, the tag no longer appears, and the unread count isn't shown. Just me or is anyone else experiencing this? [more inside]
Hey, I'm talkin' here!
In the site activity megathread some suggested users ought to have some way of knowing just how much of a thread they're occupying. I added a userscript just for that purpose to the MefiScripts repository. It puts summary stats just below the comment box. [more inside]
MefiReply Userscript
MefiReply is a new userscript for quote-replying to comments. It works on all Metafilter subsites in both Modern and Classic modes. If you have Tampermonkey or Greasemonkey, you can install it by visiting this page. [more inside]

mefiscripts github repository
Mefites use a bunch of userscripts, stylesheets, and bookmarklets to customize the site, but we don't have a place to collaboratively maintain them. What if we had a shared Github organization where authors could contribute their scripts for community maintenance? I've put one up over at github.com/mefiscripts/mefiscripts, and if folks think it's a good idea I'd love to have you join. [more inside]
Created a GM/TM userscript to display tags on main pages
I created a GreaseMonkey/TamperMonkey userscript to show post tags on main pages. Check the page out for a screenshot of what I'm talking about. [more inside]
[Greasemonkey] Sort comments by favorites
I've written a userscript to sort the page comments by favorites. It's only been tested on the latest Firefox with Greasemonkey but it should work on Chrome with Tampermonkey. You can grab / install the script here.
Filtering for favorited comments
Is there a Firefox extension or Greasemonkey script that will hide comments with fewer than X favorites in a thread? I want to see the best of the political threads without having to wade through thousands of comments.
Color Comments By User
I made a Greasemonkey script that allows you to assign a color of your choosing to any MeFi user and displays each user's comments in their corresponding color. [more inside]

Greasemonkey script that filters by favorites
The Windows 10 upgrade blew away my greasemonkey collection and I am struggling to find the script that showed metafilter threads with comments filtered by 5 or more comments. It had a tab interface at the top of the comments with something like "5 or more" and "show all comments". Anybody have a working link/copy of this script? I miss it dearly.
Modern theme with new post counter? Yes we can!
With help from pb, I've put together a Greasemonkey userscript to display the old "x new posts and comments since your last visit" message that's been removed from the new Modern Theme. [more inside]
Looking for useful feedback: MetaFilter tools by mdevore
Recently there were some Greasemonkey scripts and Chrome extension tools for MetaFilter posted to MeFi Projects and I thought they warranted special mention, as not everyone may be aware of them. They're from programmer (and Mefite) mdevore (Michael Devore). Direct link here. [more inside]
Parsing Metafilter comments
I'm submitting this as a feature request, but I'm not sure that's the right category. I have difficulty parsing the comments in a metafilter thread. It's the way it's laid out, with the comment followed by the poster's name and other information:
Is there any way I could change it?I'd rather see it parsed differently; prioritizing the name of the Mefite, followed by their post (in quotes, maybe?), then the remaining information. Something like this:

Greasemonkey Deleted posts script not working
I have just noticed my Mefi Deleted posts Greasemonkey has stopped working, is this anything to do with the new Mefi look or is it a greasemonkey thing? Anyone else noticed this?
General call to scriptmakers!
The new MeFi redesign seems fairly stable (like, pb's not going to do a massive rollback tomorrow or anything), and I'm sure there are a lot of people using various scripts which don't work any more. I've thought about asking individual script writers about updates, but I don't know which scripts have been abandoned, which are active, etc., plus I know that other people are using all kinds other scripts, so here's a general call to script users: If you're using a script and it no longer works, post it here! And a general call to script writers: If you think "Aw, I'm sure nobody cares about my ole script anymore", give the thread a look! If you see people posting that your script isn't working with the redesign, that means your script is still loved! Consider giving it an update, if you have the time!
Like browsing MeFi in a shrouded theater
A lot of people have complained about FanFare's professional white background. Well, DRUNK WITH POWER after somehow kludging together a successful CSS theme for /r/MetaFilter with zero experience, I decided to try my hand at giving our new subsite a makeover, too -- the layout is fine, but that glaring white is painful to read in a darkened teevee room. Inspired by the original soothing dark blue color scheme from film/TV review aggregator Metacritic (which discarded it for an unpopular redesign years ago), I put together a complete FanFare theme (screenshot*) that adjusts not just the background and text, but stuff like visited links, link hovering, the pop-up video button and lightbox, posting page notes, live preview area, and the sidebar and Deck ad box. You can install it in Firefox (with Greasemonkey or Stylish), Chrome (with Stylish or Blank Canvas Script Handler), and jailbroken iOS (with Userscript Loader, using this URL) -- it's tested and working properly on all three. A small heads up about userscripts dot org
It seems that http://userscripts.org has been down for an extended period of time, although the site is currently available on an alternate port ( http://userscripts.org:8080/ ). I would like to suggest if you maintain scripts there, that you make them available at another location (perhaps the mefi wiki?) out of an abundance of caution.

HowlsOfOutrage lives again, expands
Due to a couple of recent MetaFilter user requests to return it to working status, I have updated the popular (6K+ downloads on userscripts, more elsewhere) HowlsOfOutrage Greasemonkey script. The script displays a popup window of all users favoriting a particular MetaFilter post or comment on mouse hover over the favorites text. In addition, I've updated the Chrome extension, and added a new Safari extension. Testing was successful, but not exhaustive. All completely free as always, natch. [more inside]
What broke Mefiquote?
Busted user script help
It looks like a recent change to the markup of the site might have broken the "Metafilter favorites browser" greasemonkey script. Is it also busted for other folks? Are there any javascript-savvy folks willing to try and fix it?
Greasemonkey hacks
Grease my monkey, guvnor: Greasemonkey scripts get talked about a lot in Metatalk comments, and they seem pretty useful. I would like to ask our more Greasemonkey-oriented friends to recommend the best ones and discuss their experience of installing and using them. [more inside]
Flag it and mov... errr.. different flag
I was reading through a thread about health care and thought how nice it would be to have a script that would put a national flag next to the user's name so I could keep track of what country they live in. Wondering if anyone out there with such skills would help make my wish come true IF it is even possible based on the information currently in user profiles.

Gutterballs
We periodically have problems with remote ad servers hanging up page loading on MetaFilter and we'd like to tweak the homepage layouts to make this impact much less of a problem. However, I'm not sure how it will impact the greasemonkey script deleted post type features because the code will change a bit on the home page. [more inside]
Deathalicious' scripts have been updated for FF5
Since the original post asking about this has fallen off the MeTa front page, I just wanted to let people know that Deathalicious (maker of cool scripts) has updated Metafilter MultiFavorited Multiwidth and Metafilter Heavy Discussion Count user scripts to be compatible with version 5 of FireFox.
If you know of other scripts that were broken by FF5 and have been fixed, please post here.
Thanks Death!
