You have no idea how much restraint was involved in not making three quick comments and concluding that the answer was "three".
As ever, the answer is actually findable with the Infodump, though my guess is that today's two-in-a-row is probably not beaten anywhere previously just because of all the multiplying rarities involved. If you open it up to consecutive closures with the same value n of comments for any n, that might raise the ceiling a little bit.

Colsings are frustrating. I had a comment all typed out asking if there is anything we can do to encourage Flo not to leave us even temporarily, but the closure happened as I hit Post Comment.

My feeling on that sort of thing is two-fold:
1. If someone wants or needs to take time off from the site, that's pretty much their call, not anyone else's. I'm really fond of Flo, he's an internet friend, I like it when he's around, but if he's taking a break, he's taking a break.
2. If you want to talk about this with someone, probably it's more of a thing for sending them a private communication than something to discuss in public most of the time in any case. Let's them be more candid/casual and isn't as likely to put them on the spot.

He decided to take some time off because he felt he was maybe too close to the topic to be able to discuss it civilly. For some people, the big red button is the way they do that. I don't think anyone surprised that a "look at these assholes!" thread about vaccinations went down that way?

What's the record for consecutive closed-after-3-comment metas?
As I had the infodump loaded up here anyway, I ran a quick query and looked through the results. The record is indeed 2, and it has happened either 2 or 3 times before today.
I have no idea how to link to a specific day in the archive pages so you might have to scroll a bit for some of these:
May 31st, 2007.
October 16th, 2007.
And the optional 3rd one was on January 21st, 2008, when post 15650 and post 15651 both had 3 comments before they were deleted. Which is a kind of thread closure as well, so count that one or not depending on which way you feel like being pedantic on this issue.
There were also two 3-and-closed posts that were separated by only a single post, so it nearly happened again earlier this year. But the post in between was the one about Balisong, so I don't want to link to the archive for that because it was a sad day.

Even given the topic I was really surprised at how aggressive he was being in thread.

I thought of it more as an ultra-important public service announcement to spray and disinfect our mailmen.
And that I desperately need to compose a questionnaire for our kids' friends' parents to answer before allowing any more playdates.

Witch girls don't come on you, they come at you, with claws and screams. And you can't even kill them! What you want to do with a witch, see, is sneak past 'er quietly and hope like hell she doesn't see you. 'Cause once she starts her screeching, even if you somehow avoid the witch, now she's alerted all the other zombies, and you've got them to contend with, too!

Quin, you're a cat owner, so technically you are in a perpetual battle, at least from their perspective.
You are this || close to being their prey at any given moment, but since cats rely on you to feed them, they put on a show of tolerance, even affection, and grant you a stay of execution.
For now.

I did have a cat climb me like a tree last night for being a bit too long in my waiting to feed them, so your argument certainly has some merits.
Though I tend to think of my place less as in perpetual battle than my continued subjugation under their furry despotic rule, with the occasional reminder that while I might have thumbs, I can't use my claws, bodily sprint up the vertical surface that is my opponent, and then leap mightily away before they have any clue what hit them.
Fortunately, I was smart enough to get dogs, and since they occupy the very bottom of the household food chain, I can hide and know that the cats are terrorizing them instead.
