The world is a better place for all of us today because we now share a world with Duffell and CatastropheWaitress's BABY!
Mabel Rio was born last night (22 inches, 8lbs 9oz, breathtaking!). When last we heard both mom and baby were resting happily.
These two will be amazing parents and it's unfair that on top of all the wonderful things Mabel will accomplish she is also so cute it's almost painful. HOORAY!
I am checking the box that says "My request requires community input and cannot be addressed by contacting MetaFilter staff" because I think it's important that as many people as possible weigh in on important questions like:
1) How is this baby so cute?
2) How happy are you that this baby exists?
3) On a scale of "all the time" to "constantly", how much do you think this baby should be snuggled?
4) Mabel Rio: Adorablest baby or most adorable baby?
Hooray for the Catastrophe-Duffell family and hooray for all of us that this wonderful baby has been born to two such fantastic people!

2) So, so happy!
3) Clearly as much as the baby wants, but not as much as a dog wants, which is never/all the time/sometimes, according to MetaFilter.
4) Since my babies (now not babies) were the adorablest and most adorable babies of all time, I must say that Mabel Rio is quite possibly the bronze medal holder of adorable babies. And since mine are not babies now, she could easily sweep the podium once she starts smiling.

I write-in vote for "adorabliest" and am also glad to find out about the result of the commenting-while-wife-is-in-labor comment. Have we had a mother comment while in labor yet?
Also, Mabel's stats work out to 70 gm/cm, which sounds like a good linear density for a kid to have. Congratulations.

Technically, she read the Ask while in labor, but waited for the baby to be born to actually reply. But, I, too, thought of that comment.
