vacapinta's extraordinary user page sadly no longer seems to be updated - any other user page treats I'm missing out on?

Riffola of course is the fount of all mefi knowledge, Languagehat has some curiosities, hama7 gets a bit political, and madajujujive has some nice user sites. what else is out there?

"Look what quonsar just posted."

And dgaicun's profile is pretty clever, with comments enabled to let him know what you think of him.

Better make that here. Sheesh, I went and posted back to this page. Attention deficit what?

I keep a few links on mine, but I don't update it all that often anymore.

Thanks gravelshoes, lucien also has a nice set of MeFi related links on his page.

jessamyn used to have a cool user page, if memory serves - CSS'd all orange with a drawing of a woman dancing. but it's not that way anymore. :(

I was inspired to do something about mine because sawks had a good user page, I had CSS trickery too for a while, but then I was bored and came up with the linkorama concept.

yep, mine looked like hell with the plain text style so I nixed it.

Great concept! It's the Metafilter Information and Users Manual that you've created there, and I, for one, am glad you did.

Thank you gravelshoes.

I did do two more posts after I left. They are linked here.

Ive been meaning to update my userpage and I will do so soon for those that are actually interested. Meanwhile, you can partially blame this man's addictive game for my absence.

I was going to add Danelope's profile, but we seem to have lost him.

Donation for riffola's userpage. It's very purty.

iconomy - that rocks. Where'd you find it?

Ooooh, iconomy--that blue is peaceful! Might limit flaming...

Googling for something else entirely, (I wanted to get the url to a site I had mentioned), and that popped up in the results. I hope it was ok to link to it. Of course, I should have thought of that before...

I didn't realize it was OK to use our userpages as personal pseudoweblogs (as vacapinta seems to have done.) not that I'm complaining -- actually it could be an interesting brand extension/revenue stream for Matt: MeFi blogs.

internook used to iframe his blog in his user page, but it's broken now.

dejah420 has her blog on her user page - it's very worth visiting to ferret out pix of her pretty new baby, "The Boy" - scroll on down to 12/26. 12/20 and 12/8.

I'll see her son, I raise her one granddaughter.

Very cute grandaughter, timeistight, very cute indeed - between her and "the boy," we may be looking at the Mefi user class of 114,000.

gravelshoes, thanks for the shoutout, btw. And hama7, don't be fooled by that *picture* of me on quonsar's page. What a kidder that boy is! Everyone knows I don't look anything like that anymore since my diet.

Which of the two guys were you then madamjujujive? Just curious. heh.

there's an interesting grey area between user page and blog - they obviously have to stick to pretty strict limitations to avoid putting uneccesary pressure on resources and undermining the site, and I think I like them best when they work just with the text and mefi blue and give an extra bit of spin to the site as a whole. having said that, and as much as I love vacapinta's secret treasure chest, I'm not sure I wouldn't rather have seen them on the front page.

complete lack of action on mine. I really must do better too.

and aiee!! congratulations on the diet madamjujujive - please don't hesitate to get in touch anytime you need help making future mefites. I offer my services purely for the good of the site you understand...

For anyone concerned about how far they should go with their user page, here's the word from number one.

Thanks timeistight, I have been trying to remember where I copied the "iframe your personal site on your user page" idea from.
