Etiquette Question. Maybe a bad time to post this? [MI]

The traditions and history of puppetry are quite rich, often amusing. there are, quite unsurprisingly, those who truly hate the adorable little things.

I never finished it, thinking it might be wise to ask before making it an FPP.

Any time is a bad time to post something with three links, two of which are identical.

Speaking for myself, as only I can, it wouldn't trouble me. It's not like you're posting, say, about the crappy construction of the WTC on September 12, 2001 or anything.

That said, I'd love to see a really well-crafted post about puppets sometime.

I'm also Dios and a host of other characters. We live in a little yellow submarie with high speed net access.

Oops, the second one was supposed to be about pets.com.

I mean the puppet traditions site, arg.

That's better!

Why is it a bad time to post it? Is it like a puppet day of mourning or something?
posted by smackfu at 11:27 AM on November 16, 2005

Well, when you get around to it, stick some Being John Malkovich in there for us plebeians.

You insensitive bastard! *sob*

Finally someone's talking about real puppetry. Thank you.

IronLizard, the link goes to nowhere. Why would posting something about puppets be bad? Or insensitive?
posted by fenriq at 11:49 AM on November 16, 2005

It was inspired by some rather odd things. Nevermind.

You mean this? Wasn't supposed to be a link, it's a quote. Miss-clicked.

Any time is a bad time to post something from 5 years ago.

This conversation is blowing my mind...it's like a staging area for Metafilter...since I saw the puppet post on the blue well before reading this...

Should we run all posts through MeTa prior to posting them to the blue?

foreplay.metafilter.com

I don't get it.

Hellllls no. I think newbs will find that starting Grey threads for any reason is almost as dangerous as starting a bad Blue thread. As I've said before - email someone on the site and ask for their input. Anyone you like and respect on MeFi will probably be cool enough to help you out. I am happy to help if you want my opinion on a potential post.

Hellllls no.

Sorry, I was being sarcastic...

I don't know if this is a good use for metatalk. it could get old real quick.
