New feature idea: final follow-up/resolution feature [more inside]

This was posted before, but I don't believe people got the point. The "Best Answer" is generally the best advice (and sometimes it is the resolution, especially with computer questions), but doesn't usually indicate how things turned out. I think a lot of questions posed in AskMe are very interesting and a lot of the time I really want to know what happened in the end. My idea is to have a mechanism available to AskMe posters so that once their original situation is resolved, they can post a specially-marked comment to their AskMe question filling us in on what happened in the end. Now, clearly, not all questions will need this. Certain questions won't lend themselves to this, but many will. Lots of people come to AskMe will interesting social/life dilemmas, and I think having the "Mark As Final Follow-Up" system or what-not might encourage more people to follow up their questions. And then so we don't all have to visit each AskMe question to see if it's been followed up, there can be a page called "Latest Posted Follow-Ups" or whatever with question titles and links so we can check and see what AskMe's have been followed up recently. And I guess this would only work with non-anonymous questions, which is unfortunate, but I still think it would be a nice feature to have.

If it's opt-in, I'm for it.

I think Matt increase the possible response time for this. I'm not sure how well it's been working.

Me3. also, id like an email alert when a question I responded to is updated a month later by the questioner with a follow up to what they actually did.
