Ummm, this needs to be on the sidebar.

Agree.

If I asked MeFi how to 4s$as$in8 a certain Texan chimp, I'm sure the black helicopters would start circling.

Not fair.

Is this entertainment, or are the people in the thread now accessories to perverting the course of justice? Someone had to ask.

I completely disagree. It icks me out, not to mention the legal issues connected with promoting a post that helps us kill people and hide the bodies.

Sure, it's all fun and games until someone actually does it. Ick.

But you'll never know if someone does it! So it's always going to be fun and games! Huzzah! Chutes and Ladders for everyone!

Only if they do it right.

And who's to say who they had in mind?

Also, scarabic drinks for free in my company forever, even if only as a precautionary move. He knows way too much about this stuff.

Scarabic even knows how and where to meet new people.
Yikes

yes, I noticed the connection, too. but after all, it's not that being an expert at domestic corpse disposal means that you're using online dating services for...
...
*shudder*

anyway, I just hope scarabic never meets this user

Scarabic's post may simply be the best Ask Me comment ever. I stand by that. And even if the whole thread isn't sidebar worthy, his answer most definitely is.

What sidebar?
posted by mischief at 8:26 AM on June 14, 2004

I could have done my own version of scarabic's comment, but why? I could also produce as well, from public sources, a great writeup on how to build a small breeder reactor in one's backyard. But why should I bother? As things stand now, there are already far too many deranged people armed with destructive technologies and ideas. I won't add to their numbers.

That's not to say that scarabic's comments wasn't, in it's own way, brilliant.

But I liked this comment best.

"And never invite Jimmy Stewart over to taunt him at a dinner party after the murder. I made that mistake once.

Once.

THAT KNAVE ASHBURY STOLE MY IDEA FOR A THREAD!!!!!!

I've mentioned my intention to start a "perfect murder" thread twice in metatalk before. I've never felt so used.

Got to agree that it's a fascinating thread, but I second the don't-put-it-on-the-sidebar request (or third, or fourth, or whatever). It's information that doesn't need to be any more accessible to nutjobs, who, to my knowledge, are just about the single largest demographic subset of internet users. Not saying to remove the thread; I just don't think it should be further publicized.

props are owed to TGC, but it is a great thread. Who knew there were so many ways to get rid of bodies? (who needs to know that is another question entirely, of course)

Suppose you ran a community weblog...

How would you dispose of the threads without getting caught? Would you dump them somewhere? Bury them in the backyard or basement? Dissolve them in lime? What? What would your master plan be that would allow you to get away with it?

Come on, there's no way this is going in the sidebar. I'm glad y'all got a kick out of that little piece of dark poetry, but enough's enough!

Getting a bit worried, are we, scarabic? Afraid the sidebar might inspire some questions regarding the quantities of lime in your basement, hmmm?

I'm flattered, really, that this little feat of imagination creates such a creepy vibe, creepy enough that you'd actually think I have bodies in my basement. In reality, I don't even have a basement.

they're hanging in the attic - sshh!
