www.metafilter.com just redirected me several times to the login page. Then I received a warning message about security certificates. I chanced it and logged in, now everything's normal. Anybody else getting this? (btw, subdomains also redirected me to the login page). [more inside]

I noticed that if you attempt 3 Mefi logins you're shut out for the day. It seems that this is a good way for misbehaving visitors to shut out any user they don't like, unless the user has a computer logged in already. Am I right?

I know this has been brought up before, but the lost password emailer is not working. I am getting the "email not found, password not sent" message. I have emailed to request my password but have received no response. Is there no way to get my password?

I always have to login to MeFi twice for it to be recognized. The first time, after I submit my login info, it just takes me back to the FP and I'm not yet logged in. The second time, it always works. Anyone know what the deal is?

A little bug: I keep finding myself logged out against my will. A redesign glitch?

Seems like this was addressed as a future To-Do item last november, but is there any way to change one's password right now or in the near fuure?

Can't log in via the blue using Firebird 0.7+.
I was able to log in, however, via Metatalk.

Uhm, forgive my wanton ignorance and woeful ineptitude, but can you change your password? I've looked, and I've looked, and I've wept.

This may sound a bit clueless, but is it possible to change our passwords? I can't seem to figure out how.

Recently I needed to do some research and began to use the Ajeeb translation site. You need to be registered to use it, so on a whim I used username and password: mefi. To my surprise, they worked. I know the NYTimes has a MeFi login, what others are out there? A list would be nice.

Would it be possible to explain on the MetaTalk login page that MetaFilter and MetaTalk logins are the same thing? I joined MetaFilter sometime around August and had wanted to participate, but thought I would need a new account, which, obviously, was (and is) not available. It wasn't until this post, followed by this response, that I realized that the logins were the same. Clearly, I wasn't the only one who had this problem. I would think a small note on the page would do the trick.

i tend to login at the library and i know i should remember to log out -- but i never do. how about a "remember me" option on the login page (like blogger)? i doubt that there are other vassholes reading MeFi, but still. i'm sure i'm logged in on about half the library computers by now. oops.
