I wrote a bookmarklet to help sort posts by 'Best Answer' and number of 'Favorites'--wanna test it out for me? See external directions

If I had a feature or utility that would let me see who has favorited comments I have made I promise I would feed and water him every day. And clean out his stall.

Pony request: We can already sort the posts and comments in search results by date or by relevance. Would it be possible (or even desirable) to sort by the number of favorites each item has?

MOST POPULAR PONY!! I want more functionality for sorting and filtering through the
Popular Favorites. I'd like to have a box that allows me to choose: "Most Popular [posts, comments] on [Green, Blue, Black, Grey,...] in the past [n] days." (e.g. so that I could see all the popular AskMe posts side by side, over a longer timeframe, and without them being mixed in with the FPP's; or so that I could view the most listened to tracks on MeMu; or, or, or.)

Is it possible to sort or filter 'users near me' by fields besides distance? Such as 'number of comments/favorites/posts' or 'since last activity' or anything else, really.

Can we please have a way to sort savedfavorites by "Most recently favorited?" Either as a default, or an option? As time passes, more and more active users have multiple pages of comments that have been favorited and it can be difficult to track down what's going on when old threads are suddenly rediscovered.

1 Etiquette, 1 request.
Etiquette - are you allowed to post to ask.mefi with no comments at all in threads? (looked all over etiquette questions+wiki couldn't find the thread/answer)
-----
Request:
Any way to filter Ask.ME questions to those questions with <5 (or 10) answers with no best answer?br>
It'd be very useful to see all the questions with only one to four responses...that often get scrolled by.5>

Could a "sort by" box be added to Ask MeFi, ideally by applying a bit of the existing MeFi code? In other words, a dropdown box that would allow me to sort the site by date, my posts, my comments, recent comments, and most comments?
I think it would be very useful, especially considering how many posts have been made on Ask MeFi lately. (I'm surprised this feature hasn't already been added, frankly.)

A "sort by my comments" thingy on Ask Metafilter would make it easier to monitor threads that one is interested in. There is the potential for abuse, but since the time-limit on questions there has recently been extended, I don't think it would be all that dangerous.

I know I'm just asking for trouble since this has already been requested
a few times before (and those are only the ones I could find), but the questions on AskMe are moving faster than the speed of light and it's becoming more and more difficult to follow some of the interesting discussions. Is it really difficult to put in the "Sort by recent comments" feature on AskMe?

Why aren't subjects categorized so I don't have to read the news more than once? I see that even here I am expected to categorize my posting. If I could filter out all the news that would be pretty nice.

All MetaFilter Comments by [Member] , ordered by "Date Modified" instead of "Date Created"...what do you think?

I recently posted a comment in
this thread, but it doesn't show in the 'sort-by-recently-posted' option for the front page of MeFi (which I can't find a way of linking to).
What's up with that?

Has consideration been given previously for a Metafilter sort by most visited/most clicked on front page posts? Thanks.

A Metafilter option to sort posts/threads by a given Member's contributions (as that Member can by "My comments") Sort of like Being John Malkovich.

I would, again request the ability to have threads display in reverse chronological order, for ease of following new contributions. Together with an option to only display the the most recent contributions (say, last 10 or 20 within a post) there would be considerable server conservation.

Would it possible, without too awful much work, to add the option to be able to choose from a couple of different sort orders
here?

Some options on the Sort By drop down list don't show by default. After goofing around, the 'my comments' item shows up. Details inside...

It would be really helpful if the comments (as seen from the
comments by user page) within a thread were in order.
Often I want to go straight to my last comment in a thread, but sometimes finding them in threads where I've commented a bunch is difficult without careful inspection...

During today's name-server downtime, I noticed that when I connect directly to the IP, I can't list threads by "my comments". The listing menu only had three choices. When I access through "www.metafilter.com" I can; the menu has all four. I have no idea why this might be.

Is there a way to find a specific post by post number
without knowing which thread it's in? (Other than binary searching by hand through all of MeFi?)

Another teeny-weeny gltich with the sort feature. I had mine set for "most comments". When I went to look at a page and came back, it was still set to most comments although the dropdown menu now says date (my previous setting). This persists through refreshes.
Either "most comments" is sticky and it's not supposed to be (i.e., the menu is right but the URL is wrong), or the dropdown is reverting to the previous setting spontaneously.
As I say, the teeny-weeniest of buglets. (Oh, IE5/MacOS 9.0.4)

How about threads "floating" back up to the top of the page in relation to the intensity of the conversation? Right wing site
