Why does font size change after login?

When I come directly to www.metafilter.com (front page), the body text is displayed at what looks to be the default size for my browser. However, as soon as I click the Login link and login, when I am returned to the FPP, the font size being displayed is now larger.

Using Firefox 1.5, WinXP

D'oh. Well, that was stupid.

Apparently the default values in my MeFi "Preferences" section are not the same as my default browser values. Once I login MeFi displays using my Preferences.

Sorry for wasting your/my/our time, here.

I think they changed the front page font-size at some point, but left everyone's defaults.

I need to tune down the default sizes to match the page design. Right now it picks slightly larger fonts as a default.

Since this thread is useless and my qualm is undeserving of it's own: I realize the re-design is still a work in progress but you might want to test it with Opera a little more. The footer looked nice earlier but it's pretty crappy at the moment. No darkened background and the font size is kinda big.

have you tried reloading the stylesheet? (on mozilla, shift + reload fixed this)
