Hey, matt. Did you disable unicode support in profiles? [more inside]

Ok, I know you locked down the user pages and everything, but I'm having trouble with the unicode characters. I tried to update my page only to find that the japanese and korean characters I had used were suddenly stripped and replaced by "?"s. I tried replacing them only to find that the submission kept stripping them each time. Other areas of MeFi still seem to work with them. What gives?

They're being stripped, yeah.

There's a war on, you know.

Why are unicode characters being stripped?

> 9-11!

Why are quonsar's comments so ... disconnected?

> 9-11!

Is the answer to everything "911"?

> Yes. It's 9-11, 24/7. *

* My apologies to Gary Trudeau.

That is the most irritating commeting technique I have ever seen.

I had to use the print screen button. But what does "Hielaetotalnmg..." mean?

How about a trade for marquee? It was annoying that it displayed differently in different browsers, but that fishtank was undeniably keen.

Hell, how about a per-day cycle of questionable tags? Mondays blink works, Tuesdays marquee, Wednesdays will be big...

Good idea. Only, keep 'em a surprise. You have to figure out which tags work (or don't) before posting.
