Customization preferences not consistent across computers

My customization preferences of opening new windows for links works on one computer and not another. (More)

I'm using Win2000/IE 5.5 on my PC laptop at work and WinME/IE 5.5 on my PC desktop at home. The browers are set the same, but the new windows preference only works on my laptop. Any ideas?

Does any other site’s ‘open in new window’ feature work on your desktop?

Yes - other sites will open a new window on my desktop.

I’m stumped. You’ll have to get along with shift-clicking. You could also try upgrading IE or using Opera (my personal favorite) or Mozilla (it’s still too slow for me—maybe when 1.0 rolls around?).

I noticed that my preferences were different at work, until I went and saved them there. Could it be two distinct cookies or something?

Problem is fixed. I just ended up deleting my cookies and resetting the preferences and all seems well now.
