I'm just admiring the sidebar blog for the question it currently asks, and answers.

Nay, questions.

STOP. Just STOP with this stuff in MeTa. Please, for the love of all that's holy, just talk to yourself in the mirror or something.

By the way, I only noticed Metafilter Music's slogan (Rock and/or roll) yesterday, was that there before? It's brilliant, it cracked me up.

No, I knew what he was talking about. My comment was simply a shorter expression of the sentiment mediareport would later contribute. I agree with his comment completely.

Effigy, mate, how did you get that star?
posted by micayetoca at 3:40 PM on January 17, 2007

He mugged Stan Chin.
posted by cortex at 3:43 PM on January 17, 2007

thanks eriko, we try to keep it interesting.

micayetoca: he was one of the winners of the December contest, a fact you can learn about in... the sidebar blog!

And what would we have to do to get a star?
posted by chrismear at 3:47 PM on January 17, 2007

Dammit, too slow.

It was part of the big Blowjobs For Gold Stars program. Effigy was head and shoulders above the rest (literally!).

Hey! What happened to Stan Chin's star?

Well, apparently we're in the minority.

Whoa whoa, we can't have two of the admin joining in in a joke thread, now can we?

Well, then again, stav will be here shortly to close it down.

Why outsource the sidebar to Blogger, a subsidiary of Google company tube and rollform company?

What can I say? I was young and needed the money. Mathowie told me he's make me a star. In the end I lost evey dime I ever made on my extensive Walker: Texas Ranger collectables addiction.

But would I do it all again? You bet... you bet.

More than one opportunity for hilarity ensuing in the sidebar if properly "mashed up":

What's behind Niagara Falls?
December's wii wii wii winners
eefing!

How did people describe "electric" experiences before electricity?
eefing!

Why do interns and residents work around the clock at hospitals?
Some mefites are doing a Boxing Day (December 26) Blood Drive.
doing the legal legwork on the MeFiComp CD.

What is this thing?
Bees in the alternator
Got yours yet?

It's contest time again! Best posts of December win a Nintendo Wii, an iPod nano, a iPod shuffle
Hundreds of Hand Drawn Turkeys.

your map has been eaten by a tiger.
eefing!

I thought this was about mathowie spelling Niagra like Viagra.
It's fixed now, but I wondered why I was getting aroused by the sidebar.

I don't like the star thing. Everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others? But if we are going to have it, can we put something gross next to shitty posters' names.
posted by Falconetti at 8:26 PM on January 17, 2007

Mathowie, can you please put a little dog poo icon next to Falconetti's name?

Oh, I see. Now, was that like the 5 dollar one-time fee, or is that a privilege they have to renew periodically?
