the tabs on metatalk have had the nice CSS rounded corners for weeks. how come the other sites still have those boxy square ones?

They all look exactly the same to me. What browser are you using? I'm using IE7 under XP.

I don't want to live in a world where IE users alone get the fruit of mathowie's labors.

They're boxy but they're good.

Is there an option where I can disable rounded corners? And if I select that option, will I lose the image in my profile?
posted by Eideteker at 6:58 PM on August 19, 2007

It is because you scorned me, quonsar. Now your tabs will remain boxy forever.

I'm sure you can override the rounded corners with a user stylesheet and Stylish.

Screw the rounded corners. It's just another example of how out litigious culture over-safeties the hell out of everything. If someone is going to hurt themselves on the corners of those tabs, well it's their own damn fault. LIVE DANGEROUSLY

Curious indeed.. I do not see rounded corners (IE7)...

I see them in FF but not in IE or Opera.

This is what I see in FF. The corners don't really look rounded - more like they've had their corners chomped off by really tiny zombie ninjas.

I'll deploy more zombie ninjas to other stylesheets this week.

Just in case you didn't read the previous thread: these are not expected to do anything in IE. They were originally Mozilla-specific selectors that are scheduled to be added to the CSS3 spec.

Do you have the inline Youtube helper enabled? That was giving me trouble in IE6 a while back. Nix it and see what happens.

Um, so, why don't you put

ctrl-shift-A = add hyperlink
ctrl-shift-I = italic
ctrl-shift-B = bold

Below the comments box? I think a lot of people would think that was very, very cool. I only just found it out when I was digging through the site source for the hell of it.

It's not Ctrl+Shift+A On every browser. I think in older versions of Firefox it was Alt+A?

Stylish + userstyles = MetaFilter White

Oddly enough the tabs look like crap in MetaFilter White.

Fair enough. Although a cursory glance reveals plenty of times he's kicked this particular dead horse without a response from me. But maybe it's all just a tribute to his own white page design which Matt described as a professional looking site, in which case, yay self-promotion.

I guess it's a good thing I'm not Internet-famous. If I were, people would always be pointing out when I'm wrong, criticizing my inanities, and constantly re-posting my misguided suggestions.

Still, obscurity isn't all candy and giggles.

Sorry to disrupt this veritable Clash of the Titans y'all got going on here, but are those rounded corners contributing to the apparent lagginess of the site this morning?
'Cuz if they are they ain't worth it... we can just swaddle quonsar in some bubblewrap or something.

Actually, we should probably wrap him up regardless and then have a big group hug/quonsar popping party...

ya know, when a guy's already got a pink shirt, a microphone, and a top 5% gif, all he really needs is a box turtle. and some tin shears to open it with.

I guess all this means that anil dash is the Mike & Ikes of blogging.

And quonsar uses tin shears to round the corners on websites. (And apparently isn't too thrilled with the shape of box turtles either).

And fandango_matt, surprisingly, has a VERY white background.

I love it when a meme comes together.
