Could Shelfari be added as a social networking selection?

I prefer Goodreads, anyhow.

I suggested adding GoodReads, but it was something about their non-intuitive user pages that nixed that idea. You'd have to, like, enter a 12 digit number.

How about adding Facebook? Or did we cover that already?

Facebook has crappy non-guessable URLs, so there's no easy way to implement them.

I think we'll add a bunch of them in a few weeks when we do an update to it, and we'll go off that list on the wiki.

Sadness, thank you anyway.

Unless you just get people to give you their ID number:

/reads the rest of this massive thread, notices that GoodReads wasn't included because of its reliance on ID numbers, shuts up.

I just added a link to my profile, so it's there anyway.

Dude, you should totally put together a meta filter Facebook App. One thing it could do would be to identify mefi users who have you listed as friends here.

But mostly it would be a way for people to say "I ♥ Mefi" on face book. Not very important, but probably fun.

That would also be the way to provide Facebook integration.

Or you could just let people add their profile URLs.

Yeah, we talked about building a facebook app months ago, but the API is such that any activity you want to track on facebook has to be sent to facebook. So every single comment or post anyone makes would have to be sent to facebook and it just seemed like overkill for a tiny somewhat useful tracking kid of thing on facebook.
