Littletinyponyfilter: could it be possible to have the sidebar links on the front page for contact activity work slightly differently?

When one has the contact activity portion of the sidebar hidden, there's no link to the "all activity" page, probably because it's in the div or frame or whatever CSS/HTML gimcracky thing you put it in.

I.e: Could this:

Contact Activity (show):

be replaced with something like this:

Contact Activity (show/all):

KTHXBYE.

PS. Where's the Podcast?

P.S. Where's the Podcast?

It's late, clearly. Mathowie got FIOS instaled on our first podcast date (i.e. no connectivity). Then, I was away for the holidays. Now, mathowie is away. We'll be getting to it when he gets back and we're changing our regular podcast day to one that works better for both of us so we won't have all these near misses.

Am I understanding you correctly that you want show to show the sidebar and then all to go to another page? I never hide any of my sidebar activity so I don't know exactly how this would work but it seems that having two links sharing a parenthetical one of which has a show/hide feature and one of which opens a new page is sort of strange. Can't you just bookmark the all activity page, or am I missign something?

You can always get to your contact activity page by clicking the "Recent Activity" link at the top of every page, and then the "My Contacts" tab. That is two clicks instead of one, but not too bad. At the time we added the activity sidebar, the folks who wanted it hidden didn't want to see a trace of it on the front page.

Well, I was looking for a one-click way to the activity page when I wanted to see it, since I find that my contact activity takes up so much of the sidebar for pretty mundane things, like who on my list is adding who else to their contacts, and I always seem to have to scroll way down the see what I consider the 'real' sidebar. It's pretty meh as features go, I suppose, but I wanted to throw that out there.

You can always get rid of the stuff you consider mundane by filtering the list at the activity page. That won't solve your need to scroll to see the sideblog, but it might make the activity sidebar more useful for you.
