I just tried to post a link to this article: http://english.joins.com/Article.asp?aid=20011226014315&sid=300, but I got this message instead.

This can't be possible, can it? Any ideas?

you probably had the URL in the url description field. I just tried the URL and it wasn't found in any previous threads.

The error message you posted:
The link you entered ( ) was...

would have shown the full URL in between the parentheses if entered correctly.

A null-string would match every article, if the search algorithm didn't special-case for it.
