Congratulations!

On that topic, what's up with this question?

Hooray! Best wishes to both of you for many happy years together.

Someday your grandchildren will ask you about how you started dating and you will move your creaky selves over to whatever sort of terminal we have in The Future and show them that AskMetafilter question, and it will help show them how cute their grandparents were and remind them that having fun together is what has kept you happy all of these years and it will be so exciting for them to see your question enshrined back in the ancient old days of the early internet (from their perspective). Hooray!

It's the setup for another Zooey Deschanel vehicle.

Eeek - congradulations vs. congratulations. (Sorry.)

And, way to go KMH! :) Let this be a lesson to all (of us) neurotic wishy-washy daters on the HR section - you must take the plunge.

And now everyone's messing up the ask thread. [/grump]

That is awesomeness. Although, wow, question asked on October 27, wedding is next month? That's a fast moving relationship right there - but they're both practicing catholics, so depending on how strict they are that could be part of the reasoning.

I choose knocked up and hitched, but not laid. Your move.

Every time I start a witty response to this, my fingertips feel dirty, so I'mna back away slowly...

Wait, look what kmh wrote on the original thread:

I also greatly enjoyed the forthright Dad on Twitter.

How funny would it be if "Shit My Dad Says" was "Forthright Aphorisms My Father Sayeth." You crazy, kmh! (I've been living in the US too long, watching too much tv).
