And a tiny corner of Time.com pinged an even smaller audience, and finally megafiller.com will have some meaning. As it is, it's a registered domain, but is parked with non-content.

Good news! megafillerneck.com is still available!

I saw that after posting, and I'm confused. Whois.net and Network Solutions say it was created on 07-jan-2010 and will expire on on 07-jan-2011 - maybe desjardins meant it wasn't actually in use.

I once owned metalifter.com and abandoned it; but it apparently had enough incidental traffic to get snatched by a domain squatter.

I like the tagline on the placeholder page: "METALIFTER.COM | Look for the ridiculous in everything!" but all the links on it are MEAT related. Somebody's algorithm for automated space filling is borked.

Calling this place Megafiller must be revenge for linking to The Onion's exclusive TIME coverage.

While we're here, I've finally taken the point, and am going to start watching Mad Men. Can I just jump into it this Sunday, or must I really start from the beginning? Please hype me, Megafiller!

So, uh can we all just talk about Med Men here?

an I just jump into it this Sunday, or must I really start from the beginning?

I guess you could jump in and basically get what's going on, but I don't know how satisfying it would be -- there's a ton of backstory from the first seasons that is being referenced in subtle (and not-so-subtle) ways now that won't mean anything to you otherwise. So yeah, I'd advise starting at the beginning.

Or mad men whatever

I just like attention

Dear Scody,

I've watched this show endlessly and I'm still getting cues from the fashion from blogs and inside commentary so my thing is , oh just jump in, it's a big sea. if you float, you can be filled in cause wow they seriously forshadowed a major plot point a year in advance via clothing. it's like it was made for Lapsed English majors.

Best,

It's like Dallas but they kidnapped John Cheever and Richard Yeats to do a serial novella with the ghost of Flaubert screaming incoherently and also all the money went to costumes and kicky sets.

Start at the beginning, for sure. The current context is much more interesting if you know how they got there.

The first thing I noticed when I clicked on that Time post is that director Lesli Linka Glatter's name is misspelled as Glasser.

I think I'm going to send in my resume, since they obviously lack a good copy editor.

Miko: "I used to find my typo fingers leading me to meatfilter.com."

Miko, I did this so regularly, much to the amusement of my spouse, that the site is actually called MeatFilter in my house.

I don't know why the Time person makes a big deal out of Erin Levy's progression from writer's assistant to writer. That's a time-honored path for TV writers. Peggy's jump is far less typical.
And Lesli Linka Glasser's directed 6 episode of MM starting with #5. Corliss needs an IMDB Pro subscription.
