One year old and no name. November 20, 2010 2:27 PM   Subscribe

Alright, this morning some of us were entertained by an FPP which reminded me that we're now one year on from the 100k raffle and jamaro has yet to name the 100k-reserved account. What's up and when can we expect the suspense to end??!?

Apologies in advance to jamaro if it's due to some sort of shitty circumstance.

I like how the 100k-reserved account is MeFite 99999's sweetheart.

I think that favorited comment answers your question, gman:
Congratulations. Take some time to choose your new username. Don't waste it.

Rod - Well, that's another story; the important thing here is you gotta ask me how I'm gonna get down to the shore.
Joe - Uh, how you gonna get down to the shore?
Rod - Funny you should ask, I've got a car now.
Joe - Oh wow, how'd you get a car?
Rod - Oh my parents drove it up here from the Bahamas.
Joe - You're kidding!
Rod - I must be, the Bahamas are islands, okay, the important thing now, is that you ask me what kind of car I have.
Joe - Uh, what kinda car do ya' got?

Can you hear the drumroll jamaro?
I remember long ago another [+][ ! ] night like this
From my firefox jamaro
You were humming to yourself and softly strumming your guitar
I could hear the distant drumroll
The SLYT of raffle winners was announced from afar

They were waiting now jamaro
Every comment, every MeTa seemed to Ask eternally
I was so afraid jamaro
We were noobs and none of us prepared to post on MeFi
And I’m not ashamed to say
The rickrolls and trolls almost made me cry

There was something in the air that night
The comments were bright, jamaro
They were written there for you and me
FPP comedy, jamaro
Though I never thought that I could lose
There’s no regret
If I had to pick a username again
I would, my friend, jamaro

Now we’re on the grey again jamaro
And since a year I haven’t seen a raffle for your username
Can you heed the call jamaro?
Do you still recall the fateful night you won the winning hand?
Yet I can see in your comment posting history
How proud you are to favorite in this land

There was something in the air that night
The comments were bright, jamaro
They were written there for you and me
FPP comedy, jamaro
Though I never thought that I could lose
There’s no regret
If I had to pick a username again
I would, my friend, jamaro

I'm still fond of my idea of roleplaying the MetaFilter shopcat, plopsing around in MetaTalk threads, curling up, leaving before they close, chasing stray sunbeams... I think I'd name the cat Foofy Love, the MetaFilter shopcat. Maybe one day, in a personal era of disposable income and time.

Jamaro
Well you raffled and won without picking
A name for the prize, Jamaro
That account is nameless, the clock's ticking
And it needs you to rise, Jamaro
