Quonser-Quonsee Relations December 23, 2012 10:18 AM   Subscribe

A tiny Quonsmas pony for all! Could we get some sort of "Quonsed" option for the relationships list when we're adding contacts?

Because I like to friend my Quonsees and Quonsers, but then I forget how I know them and feel like an old person. Which I am, but that's neither here nor there.

Technically, I would support this pony but there's a "Secret" in "Secret Quonsar"...

This has come up on lots of occasions and the TL;DR is" "Contacts are XFN and we aren't going to extend them".

Dang it, Mitheral, I'm sorry I missed those. I looked for Quonsmas-specific questions, and I also don't know what XFN is, so it's totally my bad. Thanks for the info!

I suspect that this pony is stuck in a sorting room in Ohio.

XFN intro. I believe the standard was implemented by a MeFite, though I can't recall their username.

No sweat Fui Non Sum; knowing something exists makes it easier to search for and the XFN string eliminates a lot of chaff.

Also a free form contact field would be a pony I'd ride the heck out of (though I totally understand why it'll never happen) so it's repeated denial has stuck in my memory.

Yep, what they said. There's nothing that technically prevents us from revisiting the contact options at some point if we decided to chuck the XFN standard and start from scratch, but until we end up at a point where that's something we want to do and really serious dig in, we're keeping the options constant as they have been.

The beauty of XFN is its completely arbitrary, set in stone nature. Don't mess with such perfection!

So I just read that XFN page - man, they have no clue what spouse is for, do they.
