malware tip links in sidebar lack context March 5, 2014 1:01 PM   Subscribe

In the sidebar of the main Metafilter site, there's a Feb 21st entry* reading, in total: brainmouse reminds us: "Check out deezil's and samsara's profiles as really fantastic starting points." Say what now? That blurb would benefit from a few more words, like "Concerned about malware on your computer? brainmouse reminds us ..." (* yes, I'm slow)

Oh, and I did search for "malware" here before posting this :)

Ack, this is my bad. On the BestOf blog there's a title. Fixed.

Oh! I had assumed this whole time that they were just really good examples of user profiles.

WHAT I GOT SIDEBARRED (for my skills at linking to someone else's excellent content...). Feeling so special right now.

Remember that ice cream topping that was supposed to get crunchy when you poured it on, but it never did and your parents just complained about how much it cost when you could have just used regular chocolate syrup ?

Uh, I thought they were that ?

But there's no link to where brainmouse is doing the reminding? Is that weird, or is it just me?

Does it taste great, or is it less filling?

I thought the problem with Magic Shell was that it would set up after a while even when it was still in the bottle and then you'd have to like microwave it just to get it to come out and damn it can't you kids just have some carob chips on top instead, everybody loves carob chips.

Oh my god I had forgotten about this. The simple answer to it drying out was to stand the bottle in a jug of hot water during dinner.

Minstrel anyone? They melt in your mouth, not in your hand.

I really like carob chips.

I like them more than chocolate.

I will go away now.

No, lollusc! Stay! See, if you, like carob chips and a bunch of us like chocolate chips, that's good, because then there's more of what we like for us and more of what you like for you! Works out great!

So if you use Google to search for "magic shell" to see if they still make it (they do!), you get the delightful images followed by the Wikipedia entry for it. But below it you get the "People also search for" and it has brought me much joy:
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Sealed crustless sandwich
  • Coconut oil
  • Crisco
  • Frozen banana
I don't know why that particular combination tickles me so much, but it really, really does.
