The only reason is a conspiracy by HCI dweebs to integrate a mechanism for the inattentive to utterly embarrass themselves. ... sigh, repeatedly.

Woo, Alex and PJ and Reply All and everything.

The only reason is a conspiracy by HCI dweebs

To be fair, I'm not sure there's really a solution to accidental reply-all that doesn't involve basically annoying people with 2FA levels of ARE YOU SUUUUUUUUURE, THO. Besides, the nice thing about fucking up and accidentally replying-all on a touchy email is you end up with good "boy this one time I really fucked up with reply-all and..." stories to tell when people start telling stories about fucking up with reply-all.

Yep, the first rule of reply-all-club is TELL EVERYONE about reply-all-club!

No, the first rule of reply-all club is reply-all to ask everyone never to reply-all.

I just saw this - thanks so much for posting it. If BBS's were the town I grew up in on the internet, Metafilter was definitely my internet college years (is this metaphor falling apart?) Also - fun fact - Metafilter and I share a birthday. It is 20 years younger than me, to the day. It's still crazy to me that anyone in the world listens to this thing we make every week.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
