There's an awful lot of posts by you two on the podcast lately. And don't think you can cover it up by double-posting Australian tax jobs.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT, UH

Enjoying this podcast immensely - especially the "Books are like medicine..." line which can see re-using a lot (will give attribution) in future endeavours.

Water is necessary and so are video games. :-p And I sometimes post non-video game posts. Honest.

Thanks for the shoutout friends. I had an exhausting day. MetaFilter podcasts days are always made better.

The file extension is wrong, if anyone tried to download the file and it wouldn't play.

I'm always impressed by how quickly the episodes are posted after recording. Thanks for another good conversation. New podcast theme! Will there be a new podcast theme each time now? (Kidding.)

And I really really loved hearing about the books you're reading! I'm sort of surprised that hasn't come up before (that I can remember). Definitely would welcome that as a regular feature, much like the facts about the podcast episode number.

Speaking of books -- I wanted to mention the Ursula K. LeGuin obit post by holborne from last month. I was really struck by the outpouring of personal tributes from MeFites.

Literally one of the questions I was thinking of posting on AskMe was whether there were any tools/apps for watching video online simultaneously with remote friends, so I was happy to see Lyn Never's question. I watched "Wonder Woman" with a faraway friend while IMing in real time (we did the same countdown jessamyn did) a few months ago and had a lot of fun.

dilaudid, I noticed the file extension too (.mp) -- oddly, the direct download plays fine for me when clicking directly in Firefox or Chrome, and in FF when I "Save Page As" when playing the file in-browser, it adds an .mp3 extension to the file.

Oh man, that file extension thing. I must have just lopped a character off while moving files around in bash. Will fix tomorrow.

ALAS!!! I expire unmourned, in obscurity.

Oh hey that is great! You and ignignokt should coordinate your bots.

Still trying to figure out that Mudhoney thing. Thanks, cortex, for the quick turnaround on this.

If you still want in for LearnedLeague, it might still be open; I’m not sure. If not, we’ll just refer you for next season.

We have an even 18 in the private rundle, so if you register for it now you might get bumped if we have an odd number (so bring a friend!). That’s open until Wednesday.

Re: Book lapsing: I started reading again, too! Partly because it's harder to find video games that are A) satisfying at 20 minutes at a time (though getting easier) and B) do not wind you up before bedtime!

The other thing weirdly, is that reading lots of books to kids sort of has re-primed me to read books to myself and has also gotten me into the habit of going to the library three times a week.

Train covering Led Zeppelin is such a perfect example of a labor of love. No one could have been asking for such a thing, and yet they made it.

Just two comments as I listened to this in the car as I drove from central PA to Northen Virginia in some nice pea soup fog conditions.

1. Listening to golf or whatever to fall asleep is a sub-genre of the ASMR videos I watch. Most don't help me fall asleep, but I can see the allure.
2. I too played stare out the window video game when I was kid and we were going to NE Ohio or to Kinzua Dam in NW PA. Usually I focused on some sort of dirt or if it were raining a drop of water and I would make sure the dirt speck would zig zag between the dashed white lines on the Interstate. Rain made it a very dynamic session as one can imagine.
