How about sticky threads? You know, one thread that stays at the top of the page where everyone can post their War on Terrorism Link of the Day and then say the same thing about it that they did the day (or hour) before?

WHAT
THE
FUCK
MATT?

Did you somehow think an "official mathowie post" wouldn't degenerate into the exact same conversation (and I use that term lightly) as all the other threads?

and forget the pony, I want a groundhog (it seems more fitting).

Well, I vote no.

If this is suggested again in one hour can I vote no again? Or have we moved on yet?

Just sort by "Most Recent Comments" -- that generally keeps the heavily trafficked threads at the top of your screen

WHAT

THE

FUCK

MATT?

I think it's time we considered shortening this in-joke for maximum obliqueness:

WFTM?

no I want this not to keep it at the top of the screen but to stop people from posting a new one every 2 hours.

Too much noise, not enough signal

WFTM, rcade? That could be useful too, for whenever anyone needlessly pulls Matt's chain:

WHY
FUCK
THE
MATT?

WFTM, but the... Matt won...

I've been shouting "WHAT. THE. FUCK. BOSS?" after every suggestion made by my supervisor here at work, and now he invites me to a lot fewer meetings. W00t!

Wouldn't it be W.T.F.M? As I recall, the periods at the end of each word in the original were key.

I've talked about my cycle, the wheel around here that goes no-where. I think I'm going to make it a tricycle so more members can sit on it with me since no need for balancing it.

Unfortunately, WTF and WTC are inseparable in my mind now; I see one, I think the other. Not good.

You know, you are allowed to, like, not read them.

And you are also allowed to use MetaTalk to raise concerns about posts on MetaFilter.

Man ... I send my Tamim score higher and I don't even get the acronym right.

In other news, Kuro5hin is having problems with pancakes.

Thomcatspike,
(cast you Gate spell now y2karl, we are opening the vortex)

I like your meta-metaphor about cycles, you are good with it and i adore it BUT

"Wheres my bike"

is mineminemine.
but we can share.
:)

I'm opposed to sticky threads.
The glue expense alone could damage MeFi revenues.

I'd like to nominate this as The Official MetaFilter Joke:

What do you get when you cross The Godfather and clavdivs?

An offer you can't understand.

TCS took clav's bike and ran with it. Talk about meta-metaphors.
