Where did the post for "Is this the next All Your Base...?" go? Why did it leave? Sorry to sound paranoid, but with all the turmoil lately, I'm really curious about the disappearance of this seemingly innocuous post...

Double post. Huh. I did a search for the URL but I may have accidentally clipped part of it, now that I think of it. Glad it wasn't some sinister "OKAY, I'm SICK of this, NOTHING that mentions All Your Base is EVER allowed on MeFi again!" meltdown.

Zettai, that's a bit of a silly little fear. Matt's not going to yoink a meme-thread because the meme's joined its passed-on equestrian friends at the pinata farm. That's totally not his style.

No, we shouldn't.

Seriously. The threads Matt has yoinked (admittedly, the ones that I've seen but considering how much time I've wasted on this productivity blight of a website, it's quite a few :-) have all been yoinked for very good reasons, which Matt's willingly elucidated upon when asked.

There have been a couple of threads that have been closed or deleted due to either a) crass offensiveness inside, or b) the thread contains subject matter of a highly personal nature.

Invariably, the rest of the deleted threads are deleted because they're a double post or self-promotion. C'mon, he's been doing this for the year or so I've been here.

While I certainly don't expect new users to know this, and I certainly don't have a problem with people asking why Matt closed a thread, suggesting he's suddenly become this great big censor is pretty silly.

He's fucking Matt for Christ's sake. He's one of the Good People, remember?
