Deleted Posts Pony Please
So, I've been striking out lately on getting my posts to stay up on the Blue. Not complaining, but it would be good to see the deletion reason. Sadly, I can't get the deleted post script to work on my (Safari) browser, or for that matter on Chrome. I really don't want to have to return to Firefox, which I hate only slightly less than IE.
We have the automatic memail when a post goes up. Is it possible to get a nice pony that sends a memail with the deletion reason when the post goes down?
Thanks much.
Apologies for the apologies...
This is just to say / the best deletion reason / I have ever read / was in this post / forgive me / for posting it / it was fantastic / cortex / have my manbabies
Thread deletion reason, please.
This thread was deleted with the reason being "let's not". That reason is obtuse and may be difficult for some people to understand. Could we have a clear explanation of why the thread was deleted, please?
Dealing with deleted posts.
Thread concerning deleted posts on the blue. [more inside]
I have this rash...
Anonymous pony? One time I asked a question about squicky things, and I asked it in a way that wasn't very useful to the community. Not having it show up, I contacted Jess and she gave me some advice on how to improve it. What if failed anonymous questions were posted and immediately deleted and looked like regular deleted ones with reasons for deletion. This will only work for those with the Firefox script, but at least the asker gets an opportunity to remain anonymous, and other users acquire a sense of what's not going to work.
Best deleted reason this week
Best "deleted for the following reason" of the week
Opening up reasons for adding a contact...
Any way we can get an input box on the 'add as contact' page so that we can enter something that only we can see (on our own profile page) as to why we're adding someone as a contact? I find the provided options useless and I'd like to leave myself a note as to why I've added someone. Often, I'd even like to "link" them to a specific comment/post.
What gives with the deletion?
"This post was deleted for the following reason: Wingers, wingnuts, wikipedia, wikipedia. I'm not sure where the quality content is supposed to be, here. -- cortex"
Can we get a ruling on what constitutes "quality content" given the crap linked to in some of these posts? Or is it just that gossipy "outing" posts can only be made about Republicans?
Oh where, oh where, oh where has my post gone...?
Just wondering what happened to my Metafilter post (why it got deleted). Did I do something wrong? I checked my email and there was no reason given over there too. Sorry if I'm being a bother Jess; just wanted to know if there was something I could've done better to make the post stay up (liked the andaman site that I'd linked it to).
Deleted thread reasons
How about signing the reason on deleted threads so we know who to bitch to?
deletion, why?!
Loudon Dreps: self-link, no. Friend-link, yes. Was this post deleted because it sucked, or because I know the guy? If both, I concede. If only because of association, is that transgression articulated somewhere? I couldn’t find it.
Reasons given for deletion in MeFi
Looks like we have blue-style deletion in the green now! Yay! That sort of feedback loop is a good thing. (Besides, I enjoy reading reasons for deletion.)
Archive deleted threads and reasons for deletion
Archived deleted threads and reasons for deletion in AskMe and Metatalk? Pretty please?
I hate to ask why this was deleted, but...
Asking why a post was deleted has become trite and cliched recently, and I am hesitant to do so again so soon. And yet, here is a genuinely light-hearted humor post that's got some brilliant framing done by esch . . . and the deletion reason was 'um?'
A poster wonders why his or her post was deleted
How do I find out why my FPP from today got deleted?
A-list drama
Matt Welch hauls Ty Webb to the woodshed. A few weeks back, Matt wrote an article for Reason magazine, in which he discussed his observations of the Nader campaign on election night 2000. Ty has twice now claimed the story is but a figment of Matt's imagination. Matt is none too happy about the accusation. Apologies? Explanations? And when we are personally involved in the subject we're discussing, what is/should be our duty to get all the facts before posting?
Why was Arafat photo deleted?
I think it's uncouth that the 'arafat' front page post was deleted. It was a photograph of a moment captured. Like any moment captured. Except it was explosive. Why must a candid photo of Yasser Arafat under siege be purged from Mefi's memory?
SXSW post, wherefore art thou?
So where did my post about SXSW go? There were 15-16 replies last night. Did I hit a nerve with the weblog gods? Did the posts touch on something some people didn't want to read? An explanation here would be nice instead of just deleting the post. "Community weblog," indeed.
Can someone educate me?
I don't think Bas67's recent deleted post linking to the Onion should have been deleted. I think that was good stuff. I was going to post the comment:
They should translate that text into the appropriate language(s), put it on leaflets, and drop it throughout Afganistan, Syria, Lebanon and the West Bank. It might make certain individuals think twice.
Was it really beyond the Pale? Can someone educate me? Or was it the material around the post on that page (which I didn't read)?

Is this the next All Your Base...?
Where did the post for "Is this the next All Your Base...?" go? Why did it leave? Sorry to sound paranoid, but with all the turmoil lately, I'm really curious about the disappearance of this seemingly innocuous post...
