Removing Ads November 19, 2004 8:05 AM   Subscribe

Is it possible/good karma to turn off the adbar on the side, now that I'm one of the (mass of) elite Metafilter users? I don't want to do it in general -- paying for the existence of MeFi is something I'm quite happy to do by showing ads -- but from school I get a fair amount less bandwidth (University wireless is a mess) and every little bit I can trim out is a good thing by me.

Naturally, this might not even be the right place to ask this. If so, uhm... Whoops, my bad, sorry about that, and all that rot.

I've been thinking about ditching all the ads for members. They're not performing well at all, and I doubt members ever hit them anyway. They're mostly only useful for search engine traffic on old pages. Let me see what I can do today.
