Would that be because the thread was posted on December 8, 2003?

Not only was the thread closed early, but it was posted at 1:28 PM PST, which has yet to occur today. Spooky.
If you ignore sensible comments like Westcoaster's, I mean. Which is more fun, really.

(Oh, if this was a subtle gag/tribute, there's already a birthday thread here.)

How'd you wind up at that link thinking it was recent? Search?

The birthday thread....and I had a bunch of windows open at once and was distracted with work stuff, so forgot that that was how I got there. (I just saw this interesting thread with a date that looked current, but it wouldn't let me comment!)
mathowie: I'm both, evidently.

I thought was an interesting and fresh thread, until I saw my comment in it. Only a year? Time to adjust the meds, again.

Well, thanks for bringing the thread to my attention. Some good stuff there. I've got many, many DVDs and I've listened to the commentary tracks on only a portion of them, usually when it's directors I care about or something otherwise special. But may I recommend the commentary track on Bound, mostly for Jennifer Tilly's commentary near the end (when she arrives) where she gossips about the cast and extras and generally acts very silly. And Rodriguez's commentary on El Mariachi and Desperado has some great practical advice on making movies inexpensively.

The very best (imvho) is on the Conan the Barbarian collector's edition disk. It sounds like the director and Arnold hated each other's guts and both were drunk and on some kind of drugs.
Arnold is hilarious "Ah yas, I got to doo that girrrl", or "ja ja I remember dat" (many many times), or "watch that wench scratch!". The director just sounded like a perv.

Oh, also, Suzy Bright participates in the commentary on Bound and she has some insightful observations. Besides the fact that she's like the coolest person ever.
