Ockham's Razor suggests that Matt has been pruning stupid comments.

I'd buy that for the Matt-Signal snark but just poking fun at drudge? Everyone can enjoy that.

Glad to see the Drudge link go, Matt, but wouldn't it be a good idea to add an "[edited]" or something when you change an FPP? These "it's magically different now!" things are somewhat disconcerting.

rocket_skates - the interweb allows you to create hyperlinks so you don't have to copy and paste URLs.

Yeah, I thought I was going crazy and linked the same news article.

Something to note a change has been made would be very good for my mental stability.

I changed the link from a dumb post to drudge's front page to a good follow up that someone posted, then I deleted all the dumb comments mocking the drudge link.

Matt, why did you leave this up at all? Are we now going to have posts every time CNN puts up the breaking news chyron?
posted by CunningLinguist at 3:46 PM on January 19, 2005

...actually, not even CNN has bothered to pick this up yet.

Once in a while a breaking news item is significant. If this bears out to be true, it's big. If false, it's useful to know where our intelligence failures are.

Yup. Points been made, and sinks without trace every time.

mathowie, sorry if you have responded, but this would be a popular pony. What's the chances it can be added to the [ever-growing] list?

Sorry about the Drudge post; I was in a hurry and didn't have time to get a better one.

I'll try harder next time.

Well, I would say it should be of a near-9/11 magnitude to post breaking news here. And this one, in particular, is totally bogus, just one of Drudge's momentary hysterias. But I'm not going to bitch at you because the tagging thing is so unbelievably awesome.

You post the comments with the intelligence you have, not the intelligence you might want or wish to have at a later time.

Another vote for some indication of change or deletion. Simply dropping stuff down the memory hole is not good.
