Fixed new/same window problem September 21, 2001 12:11 AM   Subscribe

I fixed a longstanding site problem for members. The "open links in a new window/open in the same window" feature has always been a bit buggy, but I finally cleaned up all the code that does it. So now, if you have your prefs set to new windows, you will always get a new window on any offsite link on the front page and comment pages, including everyone's comments (I wasn't doing this before). Also, I added a "two years ago" link to the sidebar.

I apologize to everyone who helped me mourn. My father did not die in the WTC attacks. Rather it was an estranged uncle. What I have realized is how this community is important. I have been a major troll in the past, and I appreciate Matt giving me the benefit of the doubt. I realize that my own humanity has probably hurt many. i apologize.

I feel great sorrow for this. I felt that I had had to create sorrow for this. My biggest aplogies go to rcade. I felt that I had to create gravity.

I aplogize for this. Your site alone made me feel welcome. I ap0ologize that I betrayed you. Feel free to hate me. Please understand that trav3l is always rjisk.

I think he's referring to this post. But I don't know what to think considering his next 2 comments (1, 2) were pretty blatant trolls too.

Matt, it had worked fine for me. Now it doesn't.

Thanks for the new windows in the comment URLs too, Matt. Increased usability always rocks. =)

Rather it doesn't open new windows from the front page, it does from the comment page.

Yay, thanks for fixing the "open in new window" thing, Matt.

The "two years ago" link only shows up in my sideblog after I change the view using the pop-up menu, though.
