Link editorializing? September 21, 2001 2:10 PM   Subscribe

What's up with all the link editorializing (i.e. people who use their links to prove their preconceived opinion and make a point unrelated to the link content)?

I don't know how to prevent it, but shouldn't the link title somewhat relate to what the link is?

I definatly agree. It is incredibly easy to find a link that will cause the desired ill will. This won't make a difference to those that jump into thread swinging, but I like to read the stuff and I feel duped being lured into a dummy thread.

I believe it's called pre-emptively claiming the thread and all of its riches for themsevles and their heirs...

But I could be wrong....

i really, really dislike link editorializing. abhor it. posters do it all the time at slashdot, and i can't stand it.

timo: pretty much the only thing that can be done, i think, is to point out to the poster in the thread that the editorializing isn't appreciated.
