Strange problem adding tags to a post in the blue.

The Blue hangs when I try to add “gratefuldead” to http://www.metafilter.com/mefi/44146. I can add (and delete) other tags without a problem.

weird, worked fine for me.

oh damn, I see the problem -- I put in code to block tags with a user's own username in them, and grateful is in yours. heh.

Why did you do that, mat?

Probably to keep people from spoofing other posts.

That looks like the reason, since I tried to spoof mat and it stripped out a few choice tags, notably the <div> and <span> tags.

Not meaning to mess with things too badly. I had tried this several years ago and successfully spoofed CrazyUncleJoe. Glad to see that's been closed.

PS I love you, mat.

I totally understand the need for the code to block tags containing a user's own username, but wasn't there a metatalk thread a few years ago showing a correlation between usernames and thread topics? I did a half-hearted search and couldn't find it, but the general consensus was that stavrosthewonderchicken tends to post about chickeny things, while five fresh fish gravitates towards, uh, fishier topics.
